Boat Yard Storage
Sail Sand Point manages a boat storage yard for actively used non-motorized, hand-launchable boats.
This includes kayaks/canoes, rowing dinghies, small hand-launchable sailboats, and anything else you can come up with!
We welcome wind and human-powered watercraft of all kinds and have had our fair share of unusual boats. Store your boat with us and be on the water in minutes!
The boat storage yard is located at our facility on the north shore of Magnuson Park on Lake Washington. The boat yard is uncovered, and sailboats may be stored mast up. Sail Sand Point’s boat storage is designed to make Lake Washington more accessible to small boat owners and help us achieve our mission of making water recreation accessible to ALL. Boat storage users have 24/7 access to their boats.
Sail Sand Point also manages a small locker room with a limited number of lockers in our building for boat storage users to store additional boat equipment. The lockers are approximately 20″ by 20″ with 12′ of vertical clearance.
Boat storage users have access to their boats 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, via the combination lock on the boat storage user gates.
Small boat launching is available from any of the three beach ramps east of the boat storage yard. Our facility is intended for non-motorized, hand-launchable boats ONLY, so vehicles are not allowed in the boat yard or on the launch ramps. We do provide the use of hand trailer dollies for ease of launching.
Please note: Our location receives a lot of boat traffic during the summer season of June through August, so please be aware and alert of other users. Sail Sand Point programs and events have priority use of the launch ramps.
