Who We Are

Our Mission and History

“Sail Sand Point’s mission is to bring the joy and life-enhancing benefits of sailing and small boats to people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds…”

Hi folks!

We’re officially working remotely (mostly) while our office and rental area and a few other spots are getting fixed up. The hope is to be open again late-winter by very early spring at the latest. We are very excited for the outcome and believe it will allow us to do a lot more for our community with our current spaces.

During this temporary closure, email is the best way to get ahold of us. We’ll get voicemails, but can’t reliably call back all the time. Social media works well too, and we’ll check these messages regularly! Someone will be onsite a couple days each week but it’s best to schedule time to see one of us beforehand.

Nothing about our programming has changed, fortunately! Spring race team registration is live, camp and class dates will be posted next week, the scholarship application is opening up shortly, and registration day is still March 3rd at noon. More info about all of that will be included in the next e-news, shared here, and posted all over the website.

This is new for us too, so we thank you for your patience while we figure this out! If you have any questions or thoughts, please let us know.

SSP calendars are here! Stop by the office when we’re open to grab one or pick one up from the storage box outside the front door. 🗓️

As a reminder, SSP is closed from December 18th through the new year. After that, we’ll be working remotely through March while the office gets a few updates. You can always call or email us until we open back up!

If you happen to have a free morning next Wednesday, we’d love your help! Construction is starting at SSP in the new year and we have to move everything out of several spaces. We have an all the boxes and a plan, but just need some hands. No need to bring anything!

What you get out of it:
- gorgeous lake views and time with your favorite boating community
- first dibs on anything we’re throwing out
- the feeling of giving back in the holiday season (priceless)
- several free hours of open boating in the summer in exchange for your time

We plan to wrap up around 2PM, but might finish earlier. Thank you, and we’ll see you there!
