It’s official! Sail Sand Point has been awarded $80,000 from Seattle Parks & Recreation’s Major Projects Challenge Fund to begin renovations on the boathouse! The money from the MPCF will go towards the cost of feasibility studies, structural surveys and designs for forthcoming renovations and to begin a capital campaign to raise the funds necessary for completing construction. As we begin to envision our new boathouse, we hope to make a more accessible facility with additional classroom space that preserves the historical integrity of the existing building. We appreciate all of our community’s support as we embark on this new and exciting voyage; we couldn’t do it without you!
