“Goosebumps” Sailing Series on Lake Union

Location: Fremont Tugboat Company (1059 N Northlake Way, Seattle, WA 98103)
Time: January 12th, 2014 at 11:30am

Was your 2014 New Year’s resolution “Learn to sail/race a keelboat?” If it was (and if not, maybe it should be!) then a great way to jump start your resolution is to come out for a northwest classic – Seattle’s “Goosebump” series.

Sail Sand Point’s J/30 “Slingshot” will be participating in NW Riggers Yacht Club’s 2014 “Goosebump” Series of six regattas held each Sunday beginning this weekend.

The first race of the series is this Sunday, January 12th at 1pm. This is a great opportunity for sailors of all abilities to get some hands-on keelboat sailing & racing experience, meet other sailors or just get out on the water!

The Plan:
11:30am – 12:00pm: Slingshot is docked at Fremont Tugboat Company (1059 N Northlake Way, Seattle, WA 98103). Come by and warm up with some pre-race coffee and snacks aboard. Follow the “Sail Sand Point” signs to dock slip. (text 206-380-7245 if any dock gates are locked)

12:00pm – 1:00pm: Depart dock and spend an hour learning the ropes. Crew will be available to help you be as involved as you’d like to be!

1:00pm – Mid/late-afternoon: 1pm is the first start and we will return to the Fremont Tugboat Company dock by mid/late-afternoon.

It’s cold out there, so lots of warm gear and good grippy shoes are a must!
