Dear Sail Sand Point Community,
SSP hopes that you are safe and well. Thanks to all our efforts in response to COVID 19, Governor Inslee and the State of Washington have begun reducing restrictions on certain activities, but social distancing remains necessary. Sail Sand Point is committed to the health and well-being of our community, and thus, while Washington State boating and fishing activities have begun re-opening, we will not be re-opening our program until proper guidelines and procedures are in place. We have made the difficult decision to cancel all camps and classes through the end of August, and are continuing to evaluate the ongoing impact of COVID 19 to inform our decisions about programs through the 2020 season.
Many registrants have been affected by this hard call, and are wondering how Sail Sand Point is approaching refunds during this time. Our current policy is as follows. We are offering refunds for programs that we cancel or that participants choose to cancel due to COVID concerns, and we are waiving our normal cancellation fees. However, refunds are less a 5.93% fee, reflective of what Active Network charges us at the time of booking. Active Network is the secure registration system software through which all bookings are managed, payments processed, and registrant information is held. As a small non-profit organization, SSP made the decision to withhold this 5.93% from refunds as a means to minimize the hit to our operating budget, which has been drastically impacted by the massive volume of refunds being issued. It is an effort to best maintain our ability to offer our services to the community through these unprecedented times.
We understand that we are all in this together. If you require a refund and object to the withholding of this fee, or have any questions or concerns, please reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org or give us a call.
Thank you for your patience, understanding and partnership as we navigate these waters.
