Sail Sand Point is a not-for-profit community sailing center that was started in 1998 by passionate sailors and their families in order to create sailing opportunities and small boat programs for youth and adults in the greater Seattle area. Today, Sail Sand Point offers youth summer camps, year-round youth racing and clinics, adult classes, private lessons, open sailing opportunities, community outreach, boat storage, and a variety of partnership programs.
In 2015, we saw over 7,500 people come through our doors and get involved in one of our programs! Our youth camps boasted 903 participants, our adult programs got 235 people actively learning, and we hosted 1,112 participants in our Community Outreach program, many of whom had never been on a boat before and would not otherwise have the opportunity to experience our aquatic environment. We hosted 15 regattas and clinics, in addition to our ever popular Monday and Friday night casual racing, and our youth racing teams had over 50 participants.
We also awarded over $5,800 in scholarships to Outreach groups and $12,795 in scholarships to learn-to-sail youth and adult participants. Sail Sand Point is proud to say that we have never let financial limitations exclude someone from enjoying one of our greatest resources—the water!
All of this is made possible by the support of our community. Without the dedication of our volunteers, staff, sponsors, and every single person that walks in our doors, we would not be able to continue offering our programs at the high standards to which we hold ourselves.
Please consider supporting Sail Sand Point by making a tax deductible donation, volunteering your time, sponsoring us, or donating an item from our wish list.
